Known as the Gateway to the Americas because of its international border, San Ysidro is the most southern community in California. The area is of great importance for U.S. and Mexico tourism alike. San Ysidro Port of Entry is the most visited and busiest in the world as it attracts a tremendous number of tourists from many countries. It’s a great place to shop, eat and enjoy with the family.
The San Ysidro School District is a Preschool through grade 8 system with 16 preschool classes, a childcare center, a K-8 district with five elementary schools, and one middle school 7-8. Sweetwater Union High School District, which operates San Ysidro High School and the San Ysidro Adult Education Center.
