Bonita, California is a 5 square mile area of Lower Sweetwater Vallly. Nestled in the south-western section of San Diego, CA set in the middle of Chula Vista, National City and San Diego proper, Bonita boasted a modest population of 12,538 citizens at the 2010 census.
Bonita’s climate is a perfect blend of warm inland valleys and California Coast weather that draws people to our region…not too hot, and not too cold!
Part of the Chula Vista Elementary School District, and Sweetwater High School District, Bonita is served by 6 schools. The Chula Vista Elementary School District was honored with a 2014 LTG (Ret) H.G. “Pete” Taylor Partnership of Excellence Award by the Military Child Education Coalition for its support of military-connected students in August of 2014; and Sweetwater was honored under the “Getting Ready” category and was among 16 national winners for 2012 for The CollegeKeys Compact Innovation Awards. This is a great city for military families to settle and get a great education for their kids no matter what age they are!
